Preface

This volume contains the proceedings of the 2014 International Advanced Intrusion Detection and Prevention (AIDP’14) Workshop, held in Marrakesh, Morocco, on the 5th of June 2014, in conjunction with the 29th IFIP TC-11 SEC 2014 International Conference. It includes a revised version of the papers selected for presentation at the workshop.

The aim of AIDP is to promote and stimulate international collaboration for researchers, technologists and network engineers working on emerging technologies in the field of network security and intrusion detection/prevention. The workshop has been technically sponsored by ITEA2 research project ADAX (Attacks Detection And Countermeasures Simulation) which focuses on solutions enabling the detection of complex attacks against information systems, and smart and rapid reactions to those attacks with adapted countermeasures.

We are grateful to the many people who contributed to the success of the workshop. First of all, thanks to the Advisory committee, Fatih Alagoz, Adrien Becue, Nora Cuppens-Boulahia, Frederic Cuppens and Bulent Yener. Our gratitude goes as well to the members of the Program Committee and external reviewers. Last, but not least, the workshop would not have been possible without the authors who submitted papers, the presenters and the attendees.
